Digital mobile radio (DMR) is a digital radio standard created by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
DMR radios are low-cost and easy to use and radios are available from multiple sources such as Motorola, Hytera, TYT, Retevis and Anytone.
Two popular DMR radios used by radio amateurs are the TYT MD-380 and Anytone AT-D878 as these are relatively low cost (less then £200) and readily available.
The technical advantage of DMR over other digital forms of communication is the TDMA Technology, which allows a DMR repeater to handle two separate channels of communications at the same time. These 2 channels are referred to as timeslots.

GB7TC is a DMR repeater, you need to program your radio
to transmit on 430.525 MHz and receive on 439.525 MHz and set the Colour Code to 2.
Static Talkgroups

Static talkgroups are fixed and active all time.
DMR has 2 channels which are called time timeslots, timeslot 1 & timeslot 2.
You must be on the right time slot for the talkgroup you wish to use.

Coverage

GB7TC gives good coverage acress North Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire, South Oxfordshire and West Berkshire.
Mobile coverage is good along the M4 motorway from Membury Services in the east, all the way to junction 18 in the west.
There is also good coverage along the A419 truck road from junction 15 of the M4 to towards the M5 and the A420 road from Swindon towards Oxford.
